Coway's 'Icon Jeongsugi2' Equipped with Advanced Technology Gains Popularity
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Coway's ‘Icon Water Purifier 2,’ upgraded from the existing Icon water purifier with various advanced technologies, is gaining popularity among consumers.
According to Coway on the 20th, the Icon Water Purifier 2 enhances hygiene by performing 15 minutes of faucet ultraviolet (UV) sterilization every 6 hours. The entire faucet is replaced annually. Additionally, the faucet is designed as a cartridge type for easy detachment and cleaning. The faucet is made of Tritan material, which also improves hygiene. Tritan is an eco-friendly material safe for newborns, as it poses no risk of environmental hormones or internal corrosion. Furthermore, the main parts that come into contact with water, from the faucet to the waterway, have passed material safety tests conducted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The product applies the ‘2nd generation electronic cooling system,’ an advancement from the previously well-received electronic cooling system, achieving higher cooling efficiency. The electronic cooling system is a cooling method that uses semiconductor thermoelectric elements to absorb surrounding heat without mechanical movement, making it eco-friendly as it does not require compressors or refrigerants.
It is equipped with a 7-inch Nano Trap filter system, which is 1 inch larger than previous models. This filter removes a total of 94 harmful substances, including algal toxins that were difficult to eliminate with the previous 6-inch filter, as well as viruses, environmental hormones, and harmful heavy metals.
Moreover, the Icon Water Purifier 2 upgrades the hot water temperature from the previous single level (85°C) to four levels (45°C, 70°C, 85°C, and 100°C), including ultra-high temperature water at 100°C. Its size is 18 cm in width and 25 cm in height (excluding the tray), making it efficient for kitchen space utilization. It is available in a total of six colors.
