Content Startup Takes Flight for Global Expansion
From the 25th, KOCCA to Host 'StartupCon' for Two Days at COEX
Lectures and Workshops Under the Theme 'Content, Breaking Boundaries'
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency will hold 'StartupCon' for two days starting on the 25th at COEX in Seoul. This event supports the global expansion of outstanding domestic content startups. Domestic and international startups and creators gather to review the content ecosystem and share success stories and insights.
This year's theme is 'Content, Exceed Boundaries.' Experts will give lectures and conduct workshops on trends and the future of the content industry that crosses national and genre boundaries. On the first day, trend lectures will be held on four topics: content, tech, platform, and finance. The keynote speech will be delivered by David McElhatton, Executive Director of Digital Nomadic. He will discuss the future of the infinitely expanding content industry under the theme 'The Era of Content, Suggestions for the Future.'
On the second day, workshops will provide practical guides on startup management, including investment strategies, global expansion, marketing, and recruitment. Speakers include Fleur Pellerin, former French Minister of Culture and CEO of Korelya Capital, and Muneaki Masuda, CEO of Japan's Culture Convenience Club and author of 'Intellectual Capital Theory.' They will discuss prospects for global startup investment and how to survive crises, respectively.
As a competitive pitching program, 'Battlefield' will be held on the 26th. It is a survival showcase to select promising content startups of the year. Eight teams that advance to the finals will present business models for global expansion. Venture investors and startup representatives from Kakao Ventures, SparkLabs, 500 Global, and others will judge and select three companies.
