View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The '34th GCF (Green Climate Fund) Board of Directors Meeting' will be held in person at the Grand Hyatt Incheon for six days starting from the 15th.
At this meeting, more than 350 participants including Yannick Glemarec, GCF Executive Director, Jean-Christophe Donnellier, Tlou Emmanuel Ramharu, co-chairs, representatives from 48 board member countries, implementing entities, and observers will gather to discuss support projects for developing countries.
Through 34 board meetings, the GCF has supported 200 projects (totaling 40.1 billion USD) in developing countries, such as supplying eco-friendly energy, and it is estimated to have achieved a reduction of approximately 2.3 billion tons of carbon dioxide (CO2).
The GCF is the world's largest international financial organization related to climate response, established to support climate adaptation and greenhouse gas reduction projects in developing countries to minimize various disasters and damages caused by accelerating climate change. In 2013, the GCF Secretariat headquarters was established in Incheon.
An official from Incheon City stated, "We will do our best to hold a successful board meeting in cooperation with the Incheon Tourism Organization and citizen honorary diplomats," adding, "Additionally, during this board meeting, a tour event of Songdo will be held for GCF board members to widely promote Incheon."

Meanwhile, since the second half of this year, major international conferences such as the GCF board meetings have been held consecutively in Incheon, with more than 1,500 foreigners visiting Incheon in relation to green climate issues.
