Hong Byung-ho, Head of Management Support Department at Daedong Hospital, Receives Award from Korean Hospital Administrators Association

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Dooyul] Hong Byungho, Head of Management Support Department at Daedong Hospital, recently received the President’s Award of the Korean Association of Hospital Administrators at the ‘2022 Comprehensive Hospital Administration Academic Conference’ held at Maria Hall on the 1st floor of the Catholic University Seongui Hall.
Head of Management Support Department Hong Byungho was recognized for his contributions to the development of hospital administration in the Busan area, fostering excellent healthcare professionals, and advancing the Korean Association of Hospital Administrators.
The Korean Association of Hospital Administrators, which hosted the event, was established in 1985 and has since laid the foundation for medical institution administration and led the development of the healthcare industry by nurturing healthcare administration and hospital management professionals.
It has also produced hospital administrators and health insurance specialists, driving innovation in hospital management, research and development of medical policies, and improving member rights and interests.
This year’s academic conference was held face-to-face for the first time in three years due to COVID-19, with lectures divided into three parts under the theme ‘The Future of Hospital Administrators in the Digital Transformation (DX) Era.’
Before the lectures, an opening ceremony was held where commendations from the Minister of Health and Welfare and the association president were awarded to honor the efforts in developing the Korean Association of Hospital Administrators and the hospital administration field.
Hong Byungho, Head of Management Support Department at Daedong Hospital, said, “Hospital administration can be seen as a profession at the forefront of medical services, maintaining a complex relationship involving more personnel and services than any other industry, balancing patients, staff, hospitals, and the public. This award is received on behalf of senior and junior colleagues who have faithfully fulfilled many roles and duties as hospital administrators, and I will strive to be a role model for others.”
After the award ceremony, Part 1, titled ‘Digital Transformation Era,’ featured lectures including ‘Government Healthcare Policies’ by the Medical Institution Policy Division of the Ministry of Health and Welfare and ‘Strategic Thinking in the Digital Transformation Era’ by Professor Park Byungtae of the Graduate School of Healthcare Management at Catholic University.
Part 2, ‘New Standards of Hospital Administration: ESG,’ included lectures such as ‘Hospitals Fulfilling Social Responsibility? Focused on ODA’ by Kim Woonghan, Director of the Lee Jong-wook Global Medical Center and Professor of Thoracic Surgery at Seoul National University Hospital, and ‘Eco-friendly Hospital Management’ by Lee Jongjae, Chairman of the ESG Committee at the Korea Productivity Center and CEO of the Public Value Research Institute.

Part 3, under the theme ‘Secrets to Creating a New Hospital Culture,’ concluded with lectures including ‘The Power of Respect’ by Dr. Kim Chanbae, author and PhD in Management, ‘How to Work with the 90s Generation’ by Park Junggeun, author of ‘The 70s Generation Cries’ and CEO of Camp Korea, and ‘Pleasant Innovation Becomes Culture,’ a case study on organizational culture improvement by Lim Kyungjun, Head of Communications Team at Samsung Changwon Hospital.
