Popularity of Gurye Agricultural Processed Products Grows Through SNS Promotion Event

Gurye-gun, Local Agricultural Products Popular at 2022 Gwangju Food Expo

[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Miseok] Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it has been promoting and selling excellent agricultural processed products from the Gurye region by participating in the 2022 Gwangju Food Expo, hosted by Gwangju Metropolitan City and organized by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency and the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center, from the 13th to the 16th for four days.

The county was represented by Changsigojip (CEO Park Chang-min), a specialty processing company for chopi pepper, Sagye Yanggaeng (CEO Kang Mi-sun), a specialty processing company for yanggaeng (red bean jelly), Seonmyeong Nongwon (CEO Lee Eun-ja), a specialty processing company for sansuyu (cornelian cherry), and the Gurye Jirisan Food Processing Cooperative (CEO Jo Hyun-deok), an agricultural cooperative organization.

At the export agricultural food booth, Gurye Samchon Agricultural Corporation (CEO Lee Myung-yeop) exhibited and promoted nine products including dried vegetables for bibimbap and mugwort muffins.

Visitors to the Food Expo have been actively introduced to Gurye agricultural processed products through tasting events of local specialties such as sansuyu beverages and Hovenia dulcis tea, the “How far have you eaten in Gurye?” roulette event, and SNS (social network service) promotions.

A county official said, “In preparation for the implementation of the Hometown Love Donation Act in 2023, we plan to provide small souvenirs to visitors to the booth, so we hope people will visit the Gurye-gun Agricultural Technology Center booth during the expo period.”

County Governor Kim Soon-ho said, “I hope that the excellent farm-processed products of Gurye will be promoted nationwide through the 2022 Gwangju Food Expo,” and added, “We will continue to promote various promotional activities and provide generous support for pioneering domestic and international distribution networks and further for stable profit generation.”
