"Growing Together with the Community"... Keimyung University Receives 'Education Donation Award'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Koo Dae-sun] Keimyung University received the 'Korea Education Donation Grand Prize,' the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Award, at the 'Korea Education Donation Expo.'
Since starting overseas volunteer activities in 2002, Keimyung University has established social service and education donation policies and has developed and supported numerous education donation activities such as major convergence innovation projects, mentoring programs, and educational volunteer services for underprivileged groups.
The university has a president-directly affiliated organization called the 'Daegu·Gyeongbuk Social Innovation Support Group Keimyung Caritas Volunteer Center,' which has been engaged in activities such as supporting multicultural vulnerable groups, providing educational support for elementary, middle, and high schools, improving the local environment, and operating volunteer groups.

Shin Il-hee, president of Keimyung University, said, “The university must now go beyond mere existence to communicate and build relationships with the local community, growing and developing together with the region.” He added, “We will share resources and capabilities with the local community and innovate the region through solidarity with the community, advancing together with the region.”
