"Let's Explore Hangul Industrialization Plans" ... Online 'Public Forum' Held by National Institute of Korean Studies on the 12th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Koo Dae-sun] The Korea Institute of Korean Studies Promotion will hold an online forum on the 12th under the theme "Hangul and the New Era, New Technology" to explore ways to industrialize Hangul.
The Korea Institute of Korean Studies Promotion announced on the 11th that the purpose of the forum is to sketch the future of the Hangul industry in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution in line with the "Hangul Vision" declared by Gyeongbuk Province, and to jointly explore and discuss feasible industrialization plans.
The institute stated, "To encourage participation from many interested researchers, the forum will be held online and anyone can participate."
The forum will feature five scholars who are authorities in Hangul research and have studied AI and humanities together.
The keynote speech will be delivered by Kim Seul-ong, director of the Sejong Korean Language and Culture Center. Director Kim is known as a Hangul expert who has published over 60 books and 110 papers related to Hangul. He will present on the topic "Hangul Industrialization Strategy in the Era of the 4th Industrial Revolution as Found in the Hunminjeongeum Haerye."
Following the keynote speech, presentations will proceed under the themes of Part 1 "Hangul and Future Daily Life" and Part 2 "Hangul Written by AI."
The first presentation in Part 1 will be given by Professor Park Jin-ho of Korea University. Professor Park is a digital restoration expert who revives relics, artifacts, and historical figures through AI. The second presentation in Part 1 will be given by another Professor Park Jin-ho from Seoul National University, who has researched Korean language and AI language processing, presenting on "Development and Industrialization of AI Language Models Considering the Characteristics of Korean Language and Hangul."
The first presentation in Part 2 will be delivered by Dr. Jung Ji-yoon of Sungkyunkwan University, who has studied methods by which AI independently designs and creates products. The second presentation in Part 2 will be given by Dr. Han Nam-gi of Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology, who researches how AI independently creates stories.

A representative of the Korea Institute of Korean Studies Promotion said, "This forum is distinctive in that it seeks the direction of Hangul industrialization by integrating humanistic thinking and new technology, namely AI. We will continue to research feasible Hangul industrialization plans in line with Gyeongbuk Province and promote high-quality ideas into actual projects to achieve concrete results."
