Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Operates 'SW Education Platform'... Provides Coding Education and AI Lectures
'Munjehaegyeol Coding' for automatic coding problem grading
and 'Changjak Coding' for creating apps and games offered
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education will operate an 'Online Software (SW) Education Platform' that makes coding easy to learn starting in October.
On the 11th, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced that the 'Online SW Education Platform' will be provided free of charge to its students and teachers.
The Online SW Education Platform consists of three areas: 'Problem-Solving Coding,' which cultivates computational thinking by solving real-life problems; 'Creative Coding,' where students create games, apps, metaverse, etc. through programming; and 'Lecture Listening,' where students can take courses related to SW and artificial intelligence (AI).
Problem-Solving Coding applies the nation's first Online Judge system that automatically grades coding problems. When students solve and submit coding problems, the automatically graded results are delivered to both the students and their teachers. Online performance assessments can also be conducted.
Creative Coding focuses on enhancing creativity and problem-solving skills by supporting students' creative activities. Students naturally learn programming languages while solving small unit tasks. Upon completing all projects, students can create games, apps, metaverse, and physical computing works, which can be shared on app markets.
Lecture Listening is provided as a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) system that allows students to take SW and AI-related lectures anytime and anywhere. It includes courses on basic SW, artificial intelligence, and data science. Teachers are supported to develop content themselves.
