Gwangju Dong-gu Hosts Buskers World Cup Welcome Party
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, will hold a welcome party on the 7th at the 5·18 Democracy Square to greet the finalists of the ‘Buskers World Cup IN Gwangju’.
The welcome party will be held with the participation of 50 teams (78 people) from around the world and 70 domestic musician teams (248 people) for the ‘Buskers World Cup IN Gwangju’ finals, promoting Gwangju as the host city of the Buskers World Cup and providing a time for communication among musicians.
The welcome party, hosted by announcer Kim Se-jin, will feature congratulatory performances by invited singers including Ukrainian musician Julia, Greg Priester known from ‘Hidden Singer’ and ‘Immortal Songs’, as well as Christian Burgos and Junki, who appeared on ‘Non-Summit’ and ‘Welcome, First Time in Korea?’, and Guksonam.
The highlight of the welcome party is the ‘Chorus of Peace’ sung together by all the finalists. The chorus songs include three pieces: ‘Where is the Love?’, ‘Isn't She Lovely’, and ‘Man in the Mirror’, making it a meaningful occasion to deliver messages of love and peace to the world through music.
To ensure the smooth progress of the welcome party, Dong-gu has fully deployed hosts, staff, and volunteers proficient in foreign languages, and prepared a ‘World Food Culture Festival’ where attendees can taste foods from around the world including Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and Western cuisines.
