Volvo Korea Conducts 'Clean Olle' Plogging Campaign on Jeju Olle Trail
‘Hey Plogging’ Continues with Collaboration between ‘Clean Olle’ and Plogging
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Volvo Cars Korea announced on the 30th that it will conduct a plogging campaign called ‘Clean Olle’ in collaboration with the non-profit organization Jeju Olle.
This campaign started from the intention to consider the Olle walkers who walk the Jeju Olle Trail by picking up trash discarded on the path through plogging activities.
The campaign is open to anyone from the 17th of next month until August 31 of next year. Participants can receive plogging bags at 15 official information centers located along the Jeju Olle Trail (437km, 27 courses). Participants use bags separated into general waste and recyclables for plogging activities, and after collecting trash, they visit the ‘Clean House’ near the Jeju Olle Trail to sort and dispose of the waste, which validates their participation. In particular, participants who certify their participation with photos at the information centers during the period and collect stamps will receive a limited edition camp cap co-produced by Volvo Cars and Jeju Olle. (For participants with 9 or more visits, subject to early depletion)
Meanwhile, Volvo Cars has been promoting the ‘Hey, Plogging’ campaign since 2019 to spread the eco-friendly trend of ‘plogging,’ which started in Sweden, domestically. This year, in July, a campaign for the general public was held, and in August, a special campaign was conducted with more than 1,000 Volvo-related employees in the Seoul metropolitan area, Busan, and Jeju Island. Through this collaboration with Jeju Olle, Volvo Cars Korea plans to actively promote the plogging culture campaign in Jeju Island as well.
