Hyundai Motor Group, "Recognized for Software Innovation"... Wins PACE Award
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] The innovation of Hyundai Motor Group's vehicle software technology has been recognized worldwide.
On the 21st, Hyundai Motor Group announced that it received the Outstanding Collaboration Award (PACE Innovation Partnership Award) for developing and mass-producing the vehicle wired and wireless communication integrated controller (CCU) at 'The Automotive News PACE Award' held in Detroit, USA on the 19th (local time). This is the first time Hyundai Motor Group has won a 'PACE Award.'
The PACE Award, hosted annually by the American automotive media Automotive News, selects various innovative cases in the automotive industry and awards three categories: outstanding collaboration between automakers and partners, innovative technology, and notable technology.
The CCU is an integrated controller for wired and wireless communication for linking internal and external vehicle functions and data transmission, providing advanced driving experiences such as ▲wireless software updates ▲connected car services ▲vehicle data collection ▲remote diagnostics.
Through this award, Hyundai Motor Group was recognized as an automaker that led successful collaboration as well as innovation in CCU development. Sonatus, a Silicon Valley-based software startup that collaborated with Hyundai Motor Group, jointly developed key software modules within the CCU, including remote diagnostics and vehicle data collection.
This award is significant as it acknowledges Hyundai Motor Group's development competitiveness for Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV). The role of the CCU, which governs vehicle communication, is crucial to realizing SDVs.
Hyunggi Ahn, Executive Director of Hyundai Motor Group's Electronics Development Division, emphasized, “We will accelerate the development speed of SDV-related technologies so that customers can have safer and more convenient mobility experiences.”
