Hangonghoe Launches 'ESG Academy 3rd Course' for General Public
[Asia Economy Reporter Ji Yeon-jin] The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants (President Kim Young-sik) announced on the 20th that it will open the ‘KICPA ESG Academy 3rd Course.’
From the 19th to the 30th of this month, students will be recruited for the course targeting both certified public accountants and the general public who are not accountants, and the educational program will begin on the 4th of next month. On the 22nd of this month, a real-time online pre-briefing session will be held to introduce the course and provide a Q&A session.
The 3rd Academy course consists of three stages: ▲General Course (10.4 ~ 11.1), covering an overview of ESG, ESG reporting and disclosure standards and guidelines, and an overview of ESG-related accounting, taxation, evaluation, and finance ▲Advanced Course (11.8 ~ 12.6), covering detailed content on ESG evaluation, reporting, disclosure, and finance ▲Certification Course (12.13 ~ 12.20), covering ESG information certification standards and practical cases. About 20 ESG practitioners from the Big Four accounting firms, Korea Exchange, Korea Corporate Governance Service, and the Accounting Standards Board will participate as instructors.
Until the 2nd course, the program was only available to certified public accountants, but due to increasing demand for ESG education among the general public, from the 3rd course, the target audience has been expanded to include the general public for the General and Advanced courses. The first lecture of the General Course will be broadcast live on the KICPA YouTube channel from 2 PM on October 4th, so it can be attended for free without registration.
