On the 18th, at Blackstone Golf Club (par 72, 6689 yards) in Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, Park Minji won the final round of the KB Financial Star Championship (total prize money 1.2 billion KRW), the fourth major tournament of the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour, with a 4-under-par round, finishing with a total score of 5-under-par 283. This is her fourth win of the season and 14th career victory, coming three months after winning the BC Card·Hankyung Ladies Cup in June.
This is her second major tournament victory, following last year's Korea Women's Open. She received a winner's prize of 216 million KRW, increasing her season earnings to 1.04166 billion KRW. Park Minji is the first player in the KLPGA Tour to exceed 1 billion KRW in season prize money for two consecutive years. Leading significantly in both wins and prize money, Park Minji also rose to second place in the points ranking for the Player of the Year, 26 points behind Yoo Hae-ran (21). Following last year, she is signaling a strong chance for a consecutive triple crown in prize money, Player of the Year, and wins.
Starting from a tie for second place, one stroke behind, Park Minji recorded five birdies and one bogey. Although she began with a bogey on the 2nd hole, she made up for the lost strokes with a birdie on the 8th hole (both par 4). In the back nine, she secured consecutive birdies on holes 13-14 and 17-18, fending off her competitors' pursuit.
