Gwangyang Chamber of Commerce Delivers Relief Supplies for Pohang Steelworks Flood Recovery
Relief Supplies Equivalent to Three 5-Ton Vehicles Delivered to Pohang Station
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] The Gwangyang Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jeonnam announced on the 13th (Tuesday) that it delivered flood recovery relief supplies worth 30 million KRW, including bottled water, ramen, and daily necessities, to POSCO Pohang Steelworks, which is making every effort to recover from the damage caused by Typhoon Hinnamnor, the 11th typhoon.
At the delivery ceremony held at POSCO Park1538 Welcome Center, Chairman Lee Baek-gu, executives, and Moon Chung-do, Chairman of the Pohang Chamber of Commerce and Industry, attended. Relief supplies equivalent to three 5-ton trucks prepared by the Gwangyang Chamber of Commerce and Industry were handed over to Shin Kyung-chul, Deputy Director of POSCO Pohang Steelworks.
Chairman Lee Baek-gu said, “I am very sorry that Pohang City, a sister city of Gwangyang and a steel industry city, has suffered flood damage from the typhoon.”
He continued, “I hope that Pohang Steelworks, which has supported the local economy of Pohang City, will return to normal as soon as possible, and I hope that the heartfelt consolation and encouragement from the citizens and businesspeople of Gwangyang will be of some help, however small, to the executives and employees who are working hard on the recovery.”
