Seoul Seonam Hospital and Seonam District Disabled Families 'One-Stop Companion Medical Care' Business Agreement

Since the Launch of the Public Medical Headquarters in June, the Role of Disability Care in the Region Has Been Specified
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul Seonam Hospital announced on the 14th that it held a business agreement ceremony on the 31st of last month to improve the health rights of families with disabilities in the Seonam area.
This business agreement ceremony was the first event to materialize the health promotion of people with disabilities and their families in the Seonam area after being selected as a regional responsibility medical institution designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare in April to strengthen essential regional healthcare services. Key medical staff including Jang Seong-hee, Director of Seoul Seonam Hospital, Jang Young-su, Deputy Director of Medical Affairs, and Lee Jae-soon, Head of Nursing, along with about 60 stakeholders from 21 related organizations in the disability and rehabilitation fields in the region attended.
Starting with this business agreement, from September, the hospital plans to support ‘One-Stop Accompanied Medical Care’ for patients referred by partner institutions and provide capacity-building education programs to enhance medical expertise for employees of the partner institutions. Additionally, to continuously discover cooperative projects, a Seonam Area Disability and Rehabilitation Network council will be established and operated.
Prior to the business agreement, a meeting was held with representatives of disability and rehabilitation institutions representing the Seonam area to explore ways to sufficiently provide disability and rehabilitation medical services, which have low profitability and insufficient supply.

Jang Young-su, Deputy Director of Medical Affairs and the inaugural head of the Public Medical Division at Seonam Hospital, said, “We will align with Seoul City’s recently announced plan to accompany the vulnerable and expand public healthcare, with Seonam Hospital, the representative public hospital of the Seoul Seonam area.” He added, “Through this business agreement, we will strive to ensure that all families with disabilities in the Seonam area receive appropriate medical services without discrimination.”
