In an interview with TV Chosun on the afternoon of the 12th, Chairman Jeong said, "It is the first regular National Assembly session of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration," adding, "It is necessary to operate a deep and thorough regular session that presents new national tasks. Selection and concentration are needed," he said.
He plans to complete the appointment of emergency response committee members on the morning of the 13th and immediately hold a standing national committee meeting to obtain approval. Although the provisional injunction hearing initiated by former leader Lee Jun-seok targeting the new emergency response committee is scheduled for the 14th, the plan is to complete the formation of the emergency response committee as quickly as possible. Chairman Jeong said, "Only by forming the emergency response committee in this way can we proceed with the election of the new floor leader scheduled for the 19th," adding, "We cannot leave the party's leadership system vacant any longer, so it is right to hasten the formation."
Regarding whether he intends to have private contact with former leader Lee, he said, "It's not that I haven't thought about it, but honestly, the current situation seems to have gone beyond that stage," and criticized, "On one side, they are recruiting party members, and on the other side, they are trying to weaken and shake the party's power, which is very contradictory."
He continued, "The consensus among party members is 'Please stop, restrain yourselves,'" adding, "Nevertheless, former leader Lee is indiscriminately filing provisional injunctions and seems to be conducting a self-rescue campaign through the judiciary, which is a very regrettable situation."
He explained that the nature of the new emergency response committee to be announced that day will be 'integrative.' He said he also proposed emergency response committee membership to Choi Jae-hyung and Yoo Ui-dong, who are considered non-Yoon (非尹) factions, and former lawmaker Yoon Hee-suk, an economic expert within the party, stating, "If you look at the list, you will find traces of efforts to consider regional balance and to present an appearance of integration."
