KOTRA Hosts '2022 Osaka Korean Talent Recruitment Fair'
Support Events Including Resume Writing Seminar for Employment Success
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) will hold the "2022 Osaka Korean Talent Job Fair" online from the 13th to the 15th. This is the 11th event held this year to support domestic youth in finding employment in Japan. Osaka is the second largest economic zone in Japan after Tokyo and is home to many manufacturing companies famous for their craftsmanship (Monozukuri).
This year, 19 major companies from the western Japan region, including Kurabo, a textile chemical manufacturing company established in 1888, are participating. By industry, manufacturing (32%) and IT (32%) account for the majority. The demand for hiring in the IT sector stood out due to the local shortage of IT talent. The tourism and service industries account for 16%. With expectations for the resumption of tourism, the hotel and resort industries showed signs of recovery in recruitment. Participating companies plan to hire 116 Korean talents across a total of 42 job categories.
KOTRA, in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Osaka, has also prepared support programs to enhance participants' capabilities. Seminars on resume writing and interview strategies will be held through Japanese HR specialized institutions, with plans to increase acceptance rates through resume coaching and editing tailored to job seekers and one-on-one mock interviews.
Son Hogil, Director of KOTRA Osaka Trade Center, said, "With further easing of entry restrictions, we expect employment in Japan to regain momentum," adding, "We will continue to make efforts throughout the year to discover good Japanese companies wishing to hire Korean talent."
