Governor Kim Dong-yeon: "Actively Responding to Climate Change, Including Heavy Rainfall, in Collaboration with Local Governments"
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, recently stated that the recent heavy rains are all related to climate change and pledged to actively respond by joining hands with local governments within the province.
After attending the 'ECO FAIR KOREA 2022' held at Suwon Convention Center on the 5th, Governor Kim posted on social media (SNS), "The recent heavy rains we experienced are also related to climate change," adding, "While we have focused on quantitative economic growth so far, now we must add the value of 'sustainable development,' and for this, Gyeonggi Province will take the lead by working hand in hand with the 31 cities and counties."
ECO FAIR KOREA was planned to realize a carbon-neutral Gyeonggi Province that emits no greenhouse gases by 2050, in collaboration with the 31 cities and counties within the province and the Gyeonggi Provincial Council.
Held from today until the 7th under the theme "Sustainable Future, Carbon-Neutral Gyeonggi," the event includes the ▲International Clean Air Forum ▲Gyeonggi Environmental Industry Exhibition ▲Gyeonggi Carbon Sympathy ▲Gyeonggi Environmental Safety Forum, among others.
