As of 9 PM, 68,966 New COVID-19 Cases Reported...6,600 Fewer Than Previous Day
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] As of 9 PM on the 3rd, nearly 70,000 new COVID-19 cases were reported nationwide, according to Yonhap News Agency's compilation of local government data.
The number of new COVID-19 cases recorded from midnight to 9 PM was 68,966, which is about 6,600 fewer than the same time the previous day. Compared to one week ago, it is approximately 13,000 fewer, and about 39,000 fewer than two weeks ago.
With time remaining until midnight when the count closes, the number of new cases announced on the 4th is expected to increase further, likely reaching the high 60,000s or low 70,000s. The interim count for the day shows 34,069 cases in the metropolitan area and 34,897 cases in non-metropolitan areas.
One week ago, on the 28th of last month, the number of new cases was about 85,233. The average daily number of new cases over the past week is 85,540.
