Gyeonggi Fire Department Wins Consecutive Awards at Nationwide Policy Research Competition
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi-do Fire Department has consecutively won first place nationwide in various policy research competitions hosted by the National Fire Agency.
Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced on the 1st that it received the grand prize for its policy research presentation on large warehouse fires at the '2022 Field Response Capability Enhancement Research Competition' hosted by the National Fire Agency, held at Daegu EXCO on the 31st of last month.
The Field Response Capability Enhancement Research Competition is held annually to develop effective response technologies for fires that may cause multiple casualties or new types of fires.
The research task force, consisting of four members representing the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters?Fire Captain Moon Chung-rak, Fire Lieutenant Hwang In-ho, Fire Sergeant Joo Hyung-geun, and Firefighter Nam Hee-jae from Yongin Fire Station?presented research results on "3 Types SOP (Standard Operating Procedures)" focusing on securing the safety of fire suppression personnel according to warehouse types, analyzing vulnerabilities in field response, and response technologies, receiving high praise from the judges.
On the same day, at the '2nd National Fire Agency Rescue Policy Workshop,' Uiwang Fire Station, representing Gyeonggi Fire Department, presented "Securing Safety and Survival Techniques for Firefighters at Disaster Sites," winning first place (Minister of the Interior and Safety Award) among eight participating teams.
