Cheongam University, 2022 Academic Year Retirement Ceremony and Medal Awarding Ceremony
Acting President Omiseong Awarded the Hwangjo Geunjeong Medal
[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Cheongam University (Acting President Oh Mi-seong) announced on the 30th that it held the 2022 academic year retirement ceremony and medal awarding ceremony.
The event was held with the attendance of Cheongam Foundation Chairperson (Oh Cho-nyeo), board members, and faculty and staff, and proceeded in the order of presenting appreciation plaques and merit plaques, congratulatory flower bouquets, and awarding medals.
There were a total of four retirees: Professor Lee So-haeng of the ICT Drone Department and Team Leader Kim Yong-cheol of the Academic Affairs Office retired with honor, while Professor Shin Cheol-geun of the Optometry Department and Acting President Oh Mi-seong of the Nursing Department retired upon reaching the retirement age.
Professor Lee So-haeng of the ICT Drone Department expressed in his retirement speech, "I only have good memories and good recollections from my time at Cheongam University. I believe I am where I am today because of this university. I am grateful to have worked at Cheongam University, receiving the grace of many people."
Acting President Oh Mi-seong said in her retirement speech, "Being able to work at Cheongam University for 40 years was thanks to the sacrifice and love of the faculty and staff, and I thank the late founder Kang Gil-tae who connected me with the Cheongam Foundation." She emphasized, "Remember that history is always evaluated, and I have tried to live as fairly and justly as possible based on principles and common sense with the spirit of Hongik Ingan."
She also wished that all faculty and staff of Cheongam University would achieve stability and development of the university through unity and harmony, and that all faculty and staff would always enjoy health and happiness.

At the event, Professor Shin Cheol-geun of the Optometry Department received the Minister of Education Award, and Acting President Oh Mi-seong of the Nursing Department was honored with the ‘Order of Service Merit, Hwangjo Geunjeong Medal’ as a government award in recognition of her contribution to the development of national education during her 41 years and 3 months as an educator at Cheongam Foundation.
