On the 30th, Korea Railroad announced that it had won the prestigious Green Masterpiece Award among the '2022 Korea Green Products of the Year.'
The Green Product of the Year is selected through evaluations of the product's eco-friendly effects by experts, environmental organizations, and consumers.
Korea Railroad's 'Jungbu Naeryuk Line KTX-Eum' was selected as the Green Product of the Year in the service category, earning the Green Masterpiece Award given to companies that have won for more than 11 years. This recognizes their continuous eco-friendly efforts.
Previously, Korea Railroad's Gyeongbu Line KTX (2012), ITX-Cheongchun (2013), Nuriro (2014), O-train (2015), S-train (2016), ITX-Saemaeul (2017), V-train (2018), Honam Line KTX-Sancheon (2019), Gangneung Line KTX-Sancheon (2020), and Jungang Line KTX-Eum (2021) were honored as Green Products of the Year.
In particular, the 'Jungbu Naeryuk Line KTX-Eum' operates between Icheon (Bubal Station) in Gyeonggi Province and Chungju, emitting only one-sixth of the carbon dioxide compared to a passenger car. Riding this section is equivalent to planting 3.2 pine trees.
Leveraging this strength, KTX-Eum received excellent evaluations in ▲ eco-friendliness ▲ safety and convenience ▲ customer accessibility. It also achieved the remarkable feat of simultaneously winning the 'Consumer's Choice Popularity Award' voted by consumer panels.
