Lee Jun-seok: "The ruling party orders 'additional sanctions' from the Ethics Committee... Another reckless move to cover up a reckless move"
"Role of Ethics Committee Likely to Be 'Politically' Misunderstood by the Public"
"Concerned as No One Comes to Mind in the Ruling Party to Respond to Lee Jae-myung's Election as Opposition Leader"

In an interview video uploaded on the Yeongnam Ilbo YouTube channel on the 29th, former leader Lee said, "It is really difficult for the public to take an interest in what the party's Ethics Committee does, and there were parts that could be misunderstood as 'Why are they engaging in such political actions?' regarding the role of the Ethics Committee," adding, "The very appearance of the party meeting issuing orders to the Ethics Committee is also unusual."
Regarding the court's decision to accept his injunction request to suspend the effect of the party's transition to an emergency response committee, he said, "All of our party's former judge members came forward and made statements that could be insulting to the judiciary and spoke declaratively, which caused embarrassment." The emergency response committee chairman Joo Ho-young and lawmaker Kim Ki-hyun, both former judges, had previously expressed confidence that the injunction request would likely be dismissed.
In response, former leader Lee pointed out again, "There is concern that those individuals and our party's lawyer members are trying too much to judge this matter legally."
Regarding the People Power Party's plan to form a new emergency response committee after revising the party constitution and regulations, he said, "Right now, clearly seeking a detour is not the answer. I hope they look at the situation, which has been defined as unconstitutional or as something that should not be done, more comprehensively and make a judgment. Since the court ruling came after about two to three weeks of deliberation, the political sphere needs to respect that judgment."
On President Yoon Suk-yeol's recent visit to Daegu, he evaluated, "It is positive that the president travels around the provinces to look into local issues, and he should do so more frequently than now," emphasizing, "Especially, active investment is needed to prevent reverse discrimination in provincial capital cities such as Daegu, Gwangju, and Busan."

Regarding Lee Jae-myung being elected as the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea and the future relationship between the ruling and opposition parties, he said, "Lee's strength is likely his aggressive stance, and I am somewhat worried about whether our party can respond well to that going forward." He added, "Even if the presidential office responds to each of his moves, his status as a presidential candidate will only rise, so the party needs to respond well, but right now, no one particularly comes to mind who can do that."
