College Students Forgetting Night... 15 Teams from Dongmyeong University and Dongseo University Complete 2-Day Nonstop ICT Convergence Hackathon
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A unique hackathon competition where university students forget the night and carry out projects to develop information technology items that help humanity and society was held.
The SW-Centered University Project Group of Dongmyung University announced on the 24th that it had completed the "7th ICT Convergence Hackathon" competition jointly with the SW-Centered University Project Group of Dongseo University.
The event was held from August 18 to 19 for two days and one night at the Dongseo University Centum Campus Convention Hall. The schedule, which was previously conducted as a three-day offline event, was mixed with both online and offline programs.
A total of 54 participants in 15 teams passionately competed for two days and one night. Among them, six teams?three from the general division and three from the high school division?won the final awards.
In the general division, the "too eat" team, which developed a community service providing benefits such as environmental pollution reduction and delivery tip reduction functions applying big data and AI technology, won the grand prize.
The Excellence Award was given to the "Healthy Body" team, which developed an AI platform to correct incorrect exercise postures. The "1978" team, which developed an app program to help live a diligent and goal-achieving life, received the Outstanding Award.
In the high school division, the "On the Fly" team, which developed counting and translation gloves equipped with various sensors such as gyroscope sensors, won the grand prize.
The "Progressive" team, which developed a metaverse cultural content review exhibition program, won the Excellence Award, and the "Muscle" team, which developed a strength-assisting machine for the elderly, received the Outstanding Award.
Professor Jo Mi-kyung, head of the SW-Centered University Project Group at Dongmyung University, said, "I hope this year's ICT Convergence Hackathon will be an opportunity for students to grow into experts of the future society and become talents who contribute to society."

The project group plans to continue hosting ICT Convergence Hackathon competitions that can lead the spread of SW culture in the future.
