On the 23rd, Chairman Moon held a press briefing at the Ediya Coffee Dream Factory in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, stating, "The interior work for the (Guam store) is already completed."
Chairman Moon emphasized, "The domestic coffee market is already saturated, so we decided to expand globally. With pride that Korean coffee is the best, we will step onto the world stage."
Ediya Coffee previously entered the Chinese market in 2005 but withdrew after three years due to declining profitability, a painful experience. According to Chairman Moon, the Chinese market required larger stores, but rent was much higher than in Korea, and coffee culture was not as widespread as it is now. He recalled, "At that time, proper analysis of the local market was not conducted, making it difficult to generate profits from coffee alone."
Since then, Ediya Coffee has steadily accumulated export experience to Mongolia, Australia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong with products like Vinist mix coffee. In April last year, they achieved a milestone by exporting two types of coffee mix to the United States for the first time, confirming the potential for overseas market expansion. In January this year, they reopened their brand store on China's online shopping mall Tmall Global, actively preparing for re-entry into the Chinese market.
