National Institute of Korean Language Revises and Publishes 'Sejong Korean' After 11 Years
Sejonghakdang Customized Textbooks Developed for Flexible Use
The National Institute of the Korean Language announced on the 23rd that it will fully revise and publish the Korean language textbook 'Sejong Korean' for the first time in 11 years. This is the result of four years of dedicated effort, reorganized as a customized textbook to be flexibly utilized by Sejong Institutes around the world according to local learning environments. It also reflects the recent interest of foreign learners in Hallyu content to further stimulate their enthusiasm for learning. Additionally, vocabulary and grammar explanations, as well as everyday communication examples, have been strengthened, and practice activities have been enhanced to help learners thoroughly master the content. It will be published on the 1st of next month. The basic textbooks consist of eight volumes in total, with four volumes each for beginner and intermediate levels. Sejong Institutes conduct 45 to 104 hours of classes per textbook. Jang Sowon, Director of the National Institute of the Korean Language, stated, "We will continue to do our best to raise and solidify the status of the Korean language and faithfully develop Korean language education."
