Director Lee Jung-jae's 'Hunt' Invited to Sitges Film Festival Orbita Section
Screened at the Toronto International Film Festival Gala Presentation as well
Actor Lee Jung-jae's directorial debut film, "Hunt," will be showcased at the Sitges Film Festival. Distributor Megabox JoongAng Plus M announced on the 19th that the film has been invited to the competitive section Orbita, where it will be screened. This section features genre films such as thriller, action, and black comedy competing against each other. The top prize is selected by audience votes. Previous Korean films introduced in this section include "The Age of Shadows" (2016), "Believer" (2018), "The Spy Gone North" (2018), and "The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil" (2019). The Sitges Film Festival, which opens on October 6, is considered the world's third-largest fantastic film festival alongside the Brussels Fantastic Film Festival and the Fantasporto Film Festival in Portugal. It boasts the largest scale among genre film festivals.

"Hunt" is a spy action film depicting events in the 1980s involving National Intelligence Service agents Park Pyung-ho (Lee Jung-jae) and Kim Jung-do (Jung Woo-sung), who suspect each other of being spies. It was first unveiled in the Midnight Screening section at the Cannes Film Festival in May, receiving favorable reviews. Next month, it will also be invited to the Gala Presentation section at the Toronto International Film Festival, aiming for global success. Distribution rights have already been contracted with companies in the United States, France, Germany, Italy, and others, laying the groundwork for screenings in 114 countries. Domestically, it has attracted a cumulative audience of 2,327,424 as of the 18th.
