Wemade Establishes Dubai Branch... Launches Middle East Market Strategy
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Wemade announced on the 18th that it has established a branch office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), to strengthen its global business capabilities and target the Middle Eastern market. Wemade is the first domestic game company to establish a branch office in the UAE.
Wemade's establishment of a Dubai branch is based on the judgment that the Middle East region holds future growth potential in digital assets, blockchain technology, and more. In particular, Dubai has recently shown rapid growth in the gaming industry and is attracting attention as a foothold for global IT companies, including Wemade, to enter the Middle East, with the government showing a positive attitude toward blockchain businesses.
Recently, Dubai has been focusing its efforts on building a digital innovation industry by promoting itself as "blockchain-friendly." It is implementing bold policies for business ecosystems and virtual asset services based on blockchain technology.
On the 17th, Wemade CEO Jang Hyun-guk visited Dubai and held a live TV interview with the public news channel CNBC Arabia, introducing Wemade's overall blockchain business, the realization of the intergame economy, and the vision for the WEMIX coin. In the interview, CEO Jang stated, "Games that can apply blockchain technologies such as coins, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and DeFi can expand a well-designed in-game economy into the real world outside the game."
