National Tax Service to Establish 'Metaverse Tax Museum'... View Tax Artifacts in Virtual Space
[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Kim Hyewon] The National Tax Service announced on the 4th that it has established and opened the country's first self-developed platform, the 'Metaverse Tax Museum.'
The newly opened Metaverse Tax Museum is characterized by overcoming the limitations of time and space, allowing visitors to view tax artifacts and participate in tax education and experiences in a virtual space. It can accommodate around 1,000 simultaneous users.
The museum consists of a tax artifact exhibition hall where actual tax artifacts are reproduced in 3D form, allowing realistic viewing with zoom and description features; a tax education and experience center utilizing educational videos and quizzes tailored to different youth levels; and a conference room equipped for virtual briefings and video chats.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the National Tax Museum is the only tax-specialized museum in Korea, operating as a public promotion and education venue to raise awareness of the history and importance of taxes and to enhance understanding of national tax administration. The museum, based on over 8,800 artifacts, opened in October 2002 and relocated to the Sejong Government Complex in 2015 in cooperation with the National Tax Service.
