Chungnam, Safety Inspections at 1,600 Sites Including Buildings and Facilities
[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province will begin safety inspections of buildings and facilities within the region starting this month.
The province announced on the 4th that it has established the "2022 Chungnam Province National Safety Diagnosis Implementation Plan" and will identify and improve disaster-risk facilities and risk factors across society from September 17 to October 14.
The inspection activities will involve a safety management advisory group composed of experts such as university professors, architects, and safety organizations, along with related public officials and facility personnel.
The inspection targets include 1,600 sites across 25 sectors of buildings and facilities within the province, selected through consultation between the province and 15 cities and counties.
By sector, the targets are categorized as follows: ▲481 building facilities ▲652 living and leisure facilities ▲72 environment and energy facilities ▲56 transportation and transportation facilities ▲30 industrial and construction sites ▲150 health, welfare, and food facilities ▲81 priority inspection facilities ▲78 others.
This year, the province plans to focus inspections on new types of facilities with safety blind spots, such as small to medium-sized and fire-vulnerable aging facilities, demolition sites, suspension bridges, and camping sites. For facilities where visual inspection has limitations, such as bridges, reservoirs, and high-rise buildings, drones and other tools will be utilized to conduct thorough inspections.
Furthermore, violations found during inspections will be subject to administrative actions, and minor issues will be corrected immediately on-site. The province will also provide residents with information related to repairs and reinforcements to strengthen follow-up management.
The inspection results, covering a total of 25 sectors, will be publicly available through the "Safety Information Integrated Disclosure System."
