Chuseok Railroad Tickets Available for Reservation from the 16th for Three Days... 100% Contactless Sales
Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced on the 4th that it will conduct advance sales of Chuseok train tickets through a 100% non-face-to-face method such as online and telephone for three days from the 16th to the 18th.
The trains available for advance booking of Chuseok tickets are KTX, ITX-Saemaeul, and Mugunghwa-ho trains operating for five days from September 8 to September 12.
On the first day of booking, the 16th, tickets will be sold only to the information-vulnerable groups (elderly and registered disabled) who are not familiar with internet and smartphone use, and on the 17th and 18th, tickets will be sold to all citizens.
A separate booking day was prepared for information-vulnerable groups who are not familiar with the internet, and 10% of the total seats were preferentially allocated. In addition, to facilitate the purchase for information-vulnerable groups, the telephone booking limit (previously first-come, first-served for 1,000 people) was removed and the time was extended to 6 p.m.
Accordingly, on the 16th, only △ elderly people aged 65 or older or △ registered disabled persons under the Disabled Welfare Act can book tickets by phone or online.
If elderly or disabled persons are railroad members, they can log in to the 'Holiday Ticket Booking Dedicated Homepage' online via PC or mobile and make a reservation.
If they are non-members, they can join as railroad members before the booking day or, if not familiar with internet use, can book tickets by phone.
On the 17th and 18th, all citizens including the elderly and disabled can book Chuseok tickets online via PC or mobile.
On the 17th, tickets for the Gyeongbu, Gyeongjeon, Donghae, Chungbuk, Jungbu Naeryuk, and Gyeongbuk lines will be available, and on the 18th, tickets for the Honam, Jeolla, Gangneung, Janghang, Jungang, Taebaek, Yeongdong, and Gyeongchun lines will be available.
Tickets reserved online or by phone during this advance booking period must be paid for between 3 p.m. on August 18 and midnight on August 21. Tickets not paid for will be automatically canceled and allocated to waiting list applicants.
Unsold remaining seats can be purchased online and offline from 3 p.m. on August 18 via the homepage, KORAIL Talk app, station counters, etc., just like regular tickets.
Mobile booking requires clicking the link provided in the ‘KORAIL Talk’ app to connect to the holiday ticket booking dedicated homepage or directly accessing it by entering the address in a web browser.
