[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Actors Lee Jung-jae and Jung Woo-sung have been invited as directors to the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada.
On the 28th (local time), the executive committee of the 47th Toronto International Film Festival announced that "Hunt" (directed by Lee Jung-jae) was invited to the Gala Presentation section, and "The Guardians" (directed by Jung Woo-sung) was invited to the Special Presentation section.
The Toronto International Film Festival, held from September 8 to 18, is the largest film festival in North America and is considered one of the world's four major film festivals alongside Cannes, Berlin, and Venice.
"Hunt" will be screened as a North American premiere on September 15. The Special Presentation section has previously invited films such as Kim Jee-woon’s "The Good, the Bad, the Weird" (2008), Im Sang-soo’s "The Housemaid" (2010), and Cho Ui-seok’s "Cold Eyes" (2013).
Jung Woo-sung’s past works "The Good, the Bad, the Weird" and "Cold Eyes" were invited to the Gala Presentation section of the festival, and "Asura" was invited to the Special Presentation section.
