Due to a low-pressure system accompanied by a stationary front, rain will sequentially fall in most areas nationwide starting from the night of the 20th. Rain will continue until dawn on the 21st in the Seoul metropolitan area and Chungnam, until the morning in Gangwon, Chungbuk, Honam, northern Gyeongbuk, and Jeju, and until daytime in Gyeongnam and southern Gyeongbuk.
This rain will mainly affect Jeju and the southern regions. The expected precipitation is also highest in Jeju, southern regions (excluding northern Gyeongbuk), and southern Chungcheong, ranging from 20 to 70 mm. Due to the terrain influence on the southern coast, rainfall is expected to exceed 80 mm in some areas.
In northern Chungcheong, northern Gyeongbuk, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo, 5 to 30 mm of rain is expected, while the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon, and the five western islands will receive around 5 mm. In the inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon and northern Chungbuk, 5 to 20 mm of rain will fall from the afternoon to evening of the 21st after the rainy season rain stops.
The Korea Meteorological Administration stated, "Strong rain accompanied by gusts, thunder, and lightning may pour heavily from dawn to morning on the 21st, especially along the southern coast, so please prepare accordingly."
The heatwave is expected to continue. Although temperatures may temporarily drop due to the rain, humidity will increase because of the rain, and temperatures will rise again after the rain stops, making it hot.
The lowest temperatures on the morning of the 21st are expected to be between 20 and 26℃, and the highest daytime temperatures between 25 and 32℃. The daytime apparent temperature will rise above 33℃ mainly in Jeonnam and Gyeongnam.
