Recommendation Submission for Government Awards for Contributions to the Development of the Advertising Industry
"Actively Discovering Hidden Contributors Including Practitioners"
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is accepting nominations for government awards recognizing contributions to the development of the advertising industry until the 5th of next month. Sixteen individuals who have contributed to the advancement of the advertising industry and the promotion of culture will be selected to enhance the pride and honor of advertising professionals. Eight recipients will receive government awards such as the Industrial Medal, Order of Merit, and Presidential Citation, while the remaining eight will be awarded the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Citation. Selection criteria include ▲contributions to industry development such as pioneering new advertising fields and workforce training ▲contributions to the promotion of advertising culture and improvement of public life ▲contributions to strengthening national competitiveness through economic development and overseas market expansion. Eligible candidates include industry and academic professionals and organizations. A Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism official stated, "We plan to actively discover unsung heroes such as field workers to fulfill the purpose of the awards." Awardees will be determined through evaluations by a private expert committee in the advertising field, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s official review committee, qualification verification by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and public verification. The awards ceremony will be held on December 2 at the Korea Advertising Festival. Up to last year, the Ministry has awarded this honor to 266 individuals.
