Free Rental Available After Recording Personal Information at Namhae Police Substation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The Sacheon Maritime Police Station in Gyeongnam will start lending children's life jackets for free from the 18th.
Sacheon Maritime Police prepared this service anticipating an increase in family vacationers visiting the sea as summer vacation and holiday season approach, aiming to establish a safe water play culture and instill safety awareness among citizens.
Children's life jackets can be borrowed for free at the Namhae Substation after filling out a simple personal information form, and the free rental service will be piloted from July 18 until the end of the year.
According to the Maritime Police, there have been 57 coastal accidents in the past three years resulting in 12 deaths, all of whom were not wearing life jackets.
The Maritime Police decided to operate this service as part of a nationwide campaign to reduce coastal water fatalities by encouraging the wearing of life jackets.
