According to Yonhap News on the 10th, Korean Air flight KE9956, which departed from Istanbul International Airport at 6:25 PM local time on the 9th, made an emergency landing at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku two hours after takeoff due to a mechanical issue.
The incident is presumed to have been caused by an engine malfunction. Some passengers witnessed sparks coming from the engine, and fire trucks were dispatched to the airport upon the aircraft's landing.
