Ministry of the Interior and Safety Announces '2022 Safety Culture Merit' Contest Until the 19th of Next Month
Call for Nominations: Contributors Leading the Practice of Safety Culture
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 10th that it will hold the '2022 Safety Culture Merit' contest from the 11th of this month to the 19th of next month to encourage safety culture activities and discover and spread outstanding cases.
The contest categories are divided into 'individual' and 'group' sections, with the 'group' section further divided into local governments (metropolitan and basic) and other institutions. The individual section targets general citizens and public officials who have contributed to raising safety culture awareness through ▲ safety culture campaigns such as safety education ▲ volunteer activities in the safety field ▲ safety research activities, and is conducted through recommendations by institutions.

The recommended candidates will be selected as awardees at the end of the year through procedures such as merit review, and the awards will be presented at the '2022 Safety Culture Awards Ceremony' scheduled for December this year. Jung Goo-chang, Director of the Safety Policy Office, said, "Safety in the Republic of Korea can be achieved not only through government efforts but also through the safety practice efforts of the people," adding, "Through this contest, we hope to encourage various contributors in our society and spread excellent safety culture practice cases throughout Korea, taking one step closer to a 'Safe Korea'."
