Inspection of Unauthorized and Expired Drugs Display and Sales
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gangwon Province announced on the 24th that it will conduct surveillance and sample inspections by veterinary pharmacists on illegal distribution of animal drugs at 376 animal drug handling and sales establishments within the province to prevent the distribution of substandard and counterfeit animal drugs.
This crackdown is conducted at least once a year in accordance with the 'Pharmaceutical Affairs Act,' 'Veterinary Pharmacist Surveillance Guidelines,' and 'Regulations on Handling of Animal Drugs.'
The inspection targets include ▲ compliance with facility standards ▲ management status of animal drugs ▲ display and sale of unauthorized or expired drugs ▲ sale of animal drugs by non-licensed pharmacists or veterinarians such as general workers.
During the inspection and crackdown period, sample inspections will also be conducted on 100 items of antibiotics, biological products, and general animal drugs distributed in the market to verify the ingredient content of animal drugs.

Seo Jong-eok, Director of Animal Quarantine Division, stated, "We will impose strong administrative measures such as business suspension on establishments violating regulations and those with non-compliant drug ingredient analysis during the crackdown on animal drug handling and sales establishments, and will strengthen inspections and crackdowns."
