Awarding Excellent Companies and Discovering Various Policy Proposals
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will hold a joint training session at 2 p.m. on the 22nd at the Press Center to support the sustainable growth of social economy enterprises. This is a workshop for social economy enterprises in the culture, sports, and tourism sectors. Outstanding companies will be awarded, and various policy proposals will be discovered to promote active exchanges. Social economy enterprises refer to companies such as social cooperatives, village enterprises, and self-support enterprises that pursue both profit and social value. Approximately 1,200 companies are active in the culture, sports, and tourism sectors.
Ten outstanding companies were selected. The grand prize was awarded to Duri Hamkke Co., Ltd., which provides barrier-free travel services targeting vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities and the elderly. A Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism official stated, "They expanded the base of related industries by producing detailed barrier-free travel maps and conducting projects to train travel support personnel." The excellence awards went to A Company, which exhibits and sells works by emerging artists, as well as the social cooperative Dream With Ensemble and the cooperative Dreaming Cultural Playground Ddeut. Winners receive the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award and a cash prize of up to 5 million won. They also gain opportunities to promote their products and services through Korea Policy Broadcasting (KTV) and other channels.

About fifty related workers will participate in the exchange session among social economy enterprises. They plan to share management know-how, discover cooperative tasks, and propose policy ideas. Park Jong-taek, Policy Planning Officer at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, "We will establish a foundation for social economy enterprises to realize social value by autonomously and creatively establishing innovative business models."
