Defamation Charges for False Information
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] Kim Geon-hee’s fan cafe ‘Geonsarang’ has filed a complaint against the representative of ‘Seoul Voice,’ who is holding a rally in front of President Yoon Seok-yeol’s residence in Seocho-dong.
Geonsarang announced on the 20th at 2 p.m. that they filed a complaint with the Mapo Police Station in Seoul against Baek Eun-jong, the representative of Seoul Voice, for defamation by spreading false information about Mrs. Kim.
They stated, “(Representative Baek) held a rally across from Acro Vista in Seocho-dong and displayed placards and banners saying ‘Stock Manipulator Kim Geon-hee Arrest’,” adding, “(These actions) seriously damaged Mrs. Kim’s reputation by spreading false information.”
They further added, “This caused enormous mental damage not only to Mrs. Kim Geon-hee but also to the 94,000 members of Geonsarang.”
Seoul Voice has been holding rallies since the 14th of this month after filing a rally report in front of President Yoon’s residence, demanding the suspension of protests in front of former President Moon’s Yangsan residence and calling for an investigation into Mrs. Kim.

Meanwhile, on the 20th, Kim Kwang-ho, Commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, stated at a regular press briefing regarding the rallies in front of President Yoon’s residence, “Citizens have complained about the noise from the rallies, so it is necessary to review this matter,” and added, “We will enforce the strictest management possible under current laws.”
