View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] The Democratic Party of Korea has completed the appointment of members for the Party Convention Preparation Committee and the Special Committee on Organizational Strengthening, which are bodies preparing for the party convention scheduled for August, and has officially begun preparations for the convention.
On the morning of the 20th, Jo Oh-seop, spokesperson for the Democratic Party, announced this to reporters after concluding an emergency countermeasure committee meeting.
The Party Convention Preparation Committee consists of a total of 20 members, including 8 women and 6 youth members. An Gyu-baek serves as the chairperson of the committee, with Jeon Hye-sook and Kim Seong-ju appointed as vice-chairpersons, Seo Sam-seok as the general director, and Jo Seung-rae as the secretary. The committee members include Assemblymen Min Byung-duk, Kim Byung-wook, Song Ok-joo, Jin Sung-jun, Kang Seon-woo, Kim Min-cheol, Park Seong-jun, Shin Hyun-young, Jeon Yong-gi, Choi Ki-sang, and Hong Jeong-min; full-time deputy spokesperson An Gwi-ryeong; lawyer Jang Hyun-joo; Seoul City Council member Chu Seung-woo; and Jeon Su-mi, vice-chairperson of the National Disability Committee, totaling 15 members.
The Party Convention Preparation Committee will hold its first meeting at 11 a.m. today at the National Assembly Members' Office Building.

Meanwhile, the Special Committee on Organizational Strengthening also completed its appointments today. Kim Min-gi was appointed as chairperson, with Min Byung-gi as vice-chairperson and Kim Hoe-jae as legal committee chairperson. Other appointees include Assemblymen Kim Du-kwan, Lee Su-jin (proportional representation), and Lim Oh-kyung; Chungbuk Provincial Assembly member Lee Suk-ae; former Daegu Dong-gu Gap district committee chairperson Seo Jae-heon; and acting district committee chairperson for Songpa-eul Song Ki-ho.
