[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) has launched the ‘Byeolbit Nanumteo Real Estate Agency.’
At real estate agencies located in easily accessible areas for residents, free sharing of office equipment such as copiers and fax machines, as well as free access to real estate documents and tool rentals are available.
The ‘Byeolbit Nanumteo Real Estate Agency’ provides various shared living services to residents who have difficulty using office equipment, such as single-person households and elderly living alone, through the voluntary participation of 60 real estate agencies in the area.
Residents can view various real estate-related civil service documents that can be checked and issued through the Government24 website, and use copying, faxing, and scanning services free of charge.
The real estate document viewing service covers documents that do not require identity verification, such as land registers, cadastral maps, and certified copies of registries. While the service is free, users must pay the viewing fee directly for certified copies of registries.
Additionally, 21 participating agencies offer a tool rental service for 15 types of frequently used household tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, and electric drills, which might be burdensome to purchase.
The tool rental service is available by visiting the ‘Byeolbit Nanumteo Real Estate Agency’ with an ID card, and copying, faxing, and scanning services are also free to use.
Furthermore, the district office has distributed promotional badges to participating licensed real estate agencies to raise awareness of the Byeolbit Nanumteo Real Estate Agency project and requested them to display the badges.
Detailed locations, services provided, and contact information of participating agencies can be checked through the smartphone application ‘Smart Seoul Map’ and the district’s official website.
Mayor Park Junhee stated, “I hope the Byeolbit Nanumteo Real Estate Agency will provide convenience to residents in need and lead to the joy of sharing. We will continue to do our best to create a Gwanak that cares for and shares with socially vulnerable groups.”
Nowon-gu (Mayor Oh Seungrok) announced that it has newly created a walking trail and resting area for residents of nearby apartments within the forest area of the Nuclear Hospital.
The project site, located at San 43-4, Gongneung-dong, had been neglected as forest land. It was blocked by a long fence separating the Nuclear Hospital and the apartment complex, reducing usability and making it difficult for residents to access nearby roads and bus stops from the apartment complex, causing inconvenience.
The district invested 150 million KRW of local funds to create a walking trail and resting area to resolve these inconveniences and return the neglected space to residents.
In February of this year, a green space utilization contract was signed with the Korea Institute of Radiological & Medical Sciences, design services were conducted, and a residents’ briefing session was held in April to gather opinions before starting construction.
After about two months of construction, part of the fence between the apartment complex and the Nuclear Hospital was dismantled, and an arch-shaped passageway was created. The passageway connects to the walking trail, and a resting area for residents was established in the remaining forest land, which has been open to residents since this month.
The resting area was designed reflecting residents’ opinions, with a lower deck and exercise equipment installed for comfortable use. New trees and flowering plants were planted, and gabion seating walls, pergolas, and benches were installed to create a space where residents can rest briefly and communicate with each other.
In addition, the district is actively identifying general pedestrian paths and neglected spaces around apartment complexes and making various efforts to transform them into resting spaces for residents.
Last year, 12 uniquely designed ‘Hyu (休) Gardens’ were created in each apartment complex, and fences were removed in three apartment complexes including Hanshin Dongseong Apartments as part of the ‘Open Green Space Project.’ This year, construction is underway to create walking paths on Junggye-ro 8-gil and a ‘walkable road’ in Sangye Jugong Complex 10.
Mayor Oh Seungrok of Nowon-gu said, “Creating passageways and walking trails where fences blocked access will greatly improve the inconvenience of nearby residents. We will make the best efforts to utilize even small spaces well and expand healing spaces in front of residents’ homes.”
Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seongsu) announced that it will conduct ‘Environmental Patrols’ every Thursday until November 30th with residents to ensure a pleasant living environment.
The district organized this joint patrol to expand residents’ participation in district administration and create a pleasant urban environment by conducting patrols addressing various inconveniences and suggestions residents have experienced in daily life, seeking immediate solutions on-site.
The ‘Environmental Patrol’ with residents will include members of professional organizations and general residents recommended by each neighborhood chief. From 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. every Thursday until the end of November, focused patrols will be conducted targeting vulnerable areas such as residential backstreets and parks.
The joint patrol, consisting of two Songpa-gu residents and two employees from the Songpa-gu Disaster Safety Division, will inspect issues related to residents’ inconveniences, including illegal dumping of garbage, management status of parks and traffic facilities, damage to road facilities, and illegal street vending.
Additionally, on-site inspections will be conducted regarding residents’ complaints to review solutions. Findings from the patrol will be reported to relevant departments for prompt action, and the processing results will be continuously monitored.
