Gyeonggi-do Secures Over 1,157 COVID-19 One-Stop Treatment Centers
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will secure more than 1,157 'one-stop medical institutions' where COVID-19 testing, diagnosis, and prescription are all possible.
Previously, the government unified the dispersed COVID-19 related medical institutions such as respiratory clinics, designated respiratory medical institutions, and outpatient treatment centers into 'Respiratory Patient Treatment Centers' and decided to guide the types of treatment available at each center.
The province explained that with this unification of names, there will be 4,006 Respiratory Patient Treatment Centers in the province. Among these, the province plans to secure medical institutions that can provide testing, diagnosis, and prescription all in one as one-stop medical institutions.
Additionally, as the COVID-19 treatment system transitions to a general treatment system, the hospitalization referral system will also change starting in July.
Accordingly, for patients requiring hospitalization, severe cases will continue to be admitted to COVID-19 dedicated treatment beds following the bed allocation procedure, while mild cases will be able to be admitted autonomously to general isolation beds through the general hospitalization referral system after diagnosis by local clinics and hospitals.
