Constitutional Court, Asia Constitutional Courts 'Right to Life' International Conference
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] An international conference where practitioners from constitutional adjudication bodies of 18 Asian countries gather to discuss will be held on the 15th and 16th.
The Constitutional Court announced on the 13th that it will hold the 3rd Researcher Video International Conference of the Asian Association of Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions (AACC) Research Secretariat. The AACC Research Secretariat is operated by our Constitutional Court.
The theme of the conference is the right to life, where experiences and knowledge from various Asian countries will be shared regarding how the right to life is guaranteed through constitutions and constitutional adjudication, as well as the state's duty to protect life.

This conference is attracting attention as it is held ahead of the public hearing on the constitutional complaint against the death penalty scheduled for July. Yoon Nam-seok, President of the Constitutional Court, said, "As the whole world is experiencing the COVID-19 crisis, in-depth discussions on the state's duty to protect life have become even more necessary," and added, "I hope this will be a forum to share concrete considerations and engage in candid discussions on various issues related to life within the realm of constitutional adjudication."
