Gwangju Mayor Candidate Kim Ju-eop: "I Will Deeply Cherish the Value of Every Citizen's Vote"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Kim Joo-eop, the Progressive Party candidate running for mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City in the June 1 nationwide local elections, expressed his gratitude for the support, saying, "I will deeply cherish the preciousness of each citizen's vote."
In a press release on the 2nd, Candidate Kim said, "I deeply appreciate the support given to the Progressive Party," and added, "We will use today's results as a foundation to go deeper into neighborhoods, into the field, and closer to the residents."
He continued, "In this election, Gwangju showed the lowest voter turnout among all past elections and the lowest turnout nationwide," and said, "The public's disappointment with Korean politics and Gwangju politics was expressed by not coming to the polling stations. We will faithfully heed the public's call to set politics right."
He also stated, "The Progressive Party saw the election of Kim Jong-hoon as mayor of Dong-gu, Ulsan, along with three metropolitan councilors and seventeen basic councilors," and added, "In Gwangju, six basic councilors were elected. We will repay the precious hearts sent by citizens with progressive politics that take responsibility for the lives of Gwangju citizens."

He further said, "We will become a bigger vessel that embraces the hearts of Gwangju citizens and a stronger alternative force," and added, "I will repay each precious vote of the citizens for a lifetime."
