Awakening Artistic Sensitivity! ... Ulsan Office of Education Supports 'Our Children's Art Playground'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education will expand support for arts performances visiting schools in collaboration with local arts organizations in Ulsan starting this year.
The Office of Education will operate the "Our Children's Art Playground" project, which began in the second half of 2020, as in-person performances to revitalize cultural and artistic experience opportunities that had slowed due to COVID-19 and to bring vitality to school sites through the arts.
From this year, in addition to the existing string ensembles and fusion performances, wind and vocal performances have also been added.
Since April 5, starting with Cheonsang Elementary School, the Office of Education has selected 50 schools within the district to support performances.
Not only are the performances by local artists of high quality, but explanations and guidance tailored to the students' level enhance understanding of the performances, and time is provided for students to directly participate and communicate, resulting in very high response and satisfaction.
A student from Naehwang Elementary School who participated in the performance on the 27th said, "It was enjoyable to hear the sounds of various traditional Korean musical instruments learned in Korean traditional music class and to play them myself."
A teacher in charge at Cheongnyang Elementary School, who experienced the wind instrument performance held for the first time this year, said, "Instrument performances can easily become boring, but this program was well organized with instrument introductions, birthday celebrations, and cartoon character imitations, making it a happy Children's Day gift for the students."
