GS Engineering & Construction announced on the 1st that it produced eco-friendly vests using recycled polyester resin, a fiber material made by finely shredding recycled PET bottles, and distributed them to all its sites.
Previously, vests made from chemically synthesized polyester fibers were used. The newly introduced eco-friendly vests can recycle approximately 24,000 2-liter PET bottles annually based on an order volume of about 5,000 vests.
GS Engineering & Construction plans to expand the campaign to include workwear such as shirts. A GS Engineering & Construction official stated, "Workwear is the most commonly used item at construction sites," adding, "By applying eco-friendly materials, we will continue proactive eco-friendly management that minimizes environmental destruction in production activities as well as promotes sustainable consumption for resource circulation."
