Jeonbuk Fire Headquarters, Full-Scale Operation of Water Safety Experience Center Begins
From June to September at Jeonbuk 119 Safety Experience Center
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeollabuk-do Fire Headquarters (Chief Choi Min-cheol) announced on the 31st that it will officially operate the ‘Water Play Safety Experience and Survival Swimming’ education at the 119 Safety Experience Center starting June 1.
The water play safety experience will be available until August 31, and survival swimming until September 30, with two sessions held daily.
Reservations can be made in advance through the Jeonbuk 119 Safety Experience Center website, and the regular closing day is Monday.
The water play safety experience consists of eight courses including drowning rescue and water slide experience, while the survival swimming education involves a four-step curriculum such as leaf floating, teaching participants how to protect their lives in case of water accidents.
The water play safety experience helps participants learn how to respond to accidents that may occur during water play through experiences such as drowning accidents, ship escape, and rapid currents.
Survival swimming was introduced to develop the ability to survive water accidents independently, and it is a program where participants learn techniques to float in water wearing clothes and shoes until rescuers arrive.
Meanwhile, the Jeonbuk 119 Safety Experience Center’s water play safety experience site, which opened nationwide for the first time in 2015, attracts nearly 20,000 visitors annually, and as of May this year, the number of reservations exceeded 13,500, showing its popularity. It is evaluated as a beneficial safety experience place that combines education and play, including a safety education center and kids pool.
