"To Use as Support..." 70-Year-Old Who Damaged Election Banners to Be Soon Referred
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Junho] A man in his 70s who damaged campaign banners for the June 1 local elections will be referred to the prosecution.
On the 31st, the Gwangju Western Police Station announced that they plan to send Mr. A, a man in his 70s, to the prosecution without detention on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act.
Mr. A is accused of untying and damaging the banner strings of Justice Party candidate Yoo Jongcheon at Jungang Park in Geumho-dong, Seo-gu, around 6 a.m. on the 19th.
He reportedly stated that he untied the strings because a nearby tree was leaning and he intended to use the strings as support.
