Ahn Cheol-soo, Seongnam Bundang-gap National Assembly Candidate, Supports Kang Maeng-hoon, Seongdong District Mayor Candidate, on the 29th, Appeals for Support Saying "Will Help Attract Global Companies with AhnLab Experience"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Kang Maeng-hoon, the People Power Party candidate for Seongdong District Mayor, appealed for support to citizens along with Ahn Cheol-soo, the candidate for Seongnam Bundang-gap National Assembly, and Ji Sang-wook, director of the Yeouido Research Institute, at a full-scale campaign rally held on the 29th at Geumnam Market in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.
Regarding Kang Maeng-hoon's pledge to attract Google to the Sampyo Remicon site, candidate Ahn Cheol-soo said, “Google Korea does not have the authority to make such decisions. The headquarters holds the decision-making power, and discussions can only take place if you are in office.”
Ahn added, “Kang Maeng-hoon's plan to attract Google can only be realized if you elect Kang Maeng-hoon as district mayor. It requires a direct visit to Google's headquarters to present the vision and future plans as an urban expert. I will also actively support attracting global companies such as Google to the Sampyo Remicon site so that Seongdong can leap forward as Seoul's ICT industry hub.”
Kang Maeng-hoon said, “With the support of candidate Ahn Cheol-soo today, I will definitely achieve the 'Google attraction'” and appealed for support, saying, “Please elect Kang Maeng-hoon through the active voting of Seongdong residents.”
Kang Maeng-hoon's main pledges include ▲ attracting Google to develop the Sampyo Remicon site ▲ creating a cutting-edge convergence complex in Seongsu comparable to the MIT Media Lab ▲ promoting the Seongsu strategic maintenance district that surpasses 'Hudson Yards' ▲ restoring Seoul Forest to create a green pedestrian axis connected to the Han River.

Kang Maeng-hoon graduated from Hanyang University with a degree in Architectural Engineering, passed the technical civil service exam, served as head of the Architectural Planning Team at the Ministry of Construction and Transportation, Housing and Architecture Policy Officer of Seoul City, and Director of Urban Regeneration (Grade 1) of Seoul City. He is active as a Ph.D. in Urban Engineering and recently served as a member of the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Policy Committee of the People Power Party for the 20th presidential election.
